AfterGlow Aesthetics Policies

Credit Card on File

When you book your appointment, you will be asked to provide a current and active credit card. Credit card payments will only be processed for late-notice cancellations (less than 48 hours notice), and late or no show appointments. Please read Cancellation/Rescheduling terms below. Failure to have an active card on file will result in the cancellation of any future appointments.

Cancellations/Rescheduling

Out of respect for our business and other clients, we ask ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 48 hours before the beginning of your appointment. This allows us to fill this void in our schedule with another client. If you do not provide 48 hours notice, your card on file will be charged 50% of the scheduled service fee. All late cancellations/no-shows for neuromodulator appointments will be charged a $100.oo fee. Fees cannot be applied toward any future services as it is compensation for the time reserved on the schedule.

For appointments cancelled or rescheduled with more than 48 hours notice there is no fee, and you may either manually cancel or reschedule your service on our booking site or email.

For weather-related cancellations, we go by the North Adams Public School System’s safety determination. In the event that schools have been cancelled and you are unable to make your appointment, please email us with as much notice as possible.

Late Arrivals

Please always email us to let us know that you will be running late. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may ask you to reschedule your appointment so it will not affect our punctual clients. In this case, please refer to our cancellation policy. This will be charged as a last-minute cancellation, and you will be charged 50% of your service fee. Fees cannot be applied toward future services as it is compensation for the time reserved on the schedule. If we are able to accommodate you, please know that your service may be shortened and the original service price will not be changed.

Children & Additional Guests

We kindly ask that you do not bring children/guests to your appointment. Our space is not suitable or safe for unaccompanied children. Please note that clients under the age of 18 may have a parent or guardian present during the time of their service. If you and a friend have back-to-back services, you are welcome to come together.

Product Returns/Exchanges

There are no returns, exchanges, or refunds for products purchased in office or online from AfterGlow Aesthetics. In the event of a proven reaction, please email us to discuss within five days of the purchase date.

Appointment Preparation

If you are a new facial client, please carefully fill out the New Client Intake Form on our online booking website (this is for NEW clients only but will be reviewed with all clients). This comprehensive form gives your esthetician a detailed picture of your lifestyle, medical history, and skin history. Please be honest when listing all medications, allergies, prior procedures, etc. This information is confidential and essential for us to treat you safely. Second, be sure to read all pre-care instructions provided in your booking confirmation. Pre-care instructions may involve making some alterations to your current lifestyle and/or skincare routine for a set amount of time prior to your appointment. Failure to follow pre-care instructions may prevent us from going through with your treatment. Lastly, in addition to listing your current skin care products on the New Client Intake Form, feel free to bring them in so we can take a look and see what you’re using on a daily basis. Your privacy is essential to us. The following outlines our privacy policy to help you understand how we collect, disclose, and use personal information. Before or at the time of collecting personal information, we will identify the purposes for which information is collected. We will make readily available to customers information about our policies and practices relating to the management of personal information. We are committed to conducting business in accordance with these principles in order to ensure that the confidentiality of personal information is protected and maintained. FAQs

Can I get my brows/lashes and a facial done in the same day? Yes — you are able to book a brow/lash service and a facial on the same day. Because you cannot get brow tints and laminations wet, we will do your facial prior to your brows/lashes. Book your facial first on our online booking site and add your brow/lash service as an add-on (rather than a stand alone appointment). This will ensure we reserve enough time on the schedule for both services!

Can I get a facial after recently receiving neuromodulators or fillers? It is recommended that you wait two weeks after receiving neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, etc.) or fillers in order to avoid any movement/manipulation of the Botox/filler under the skin. You are always able to schedule your facial prior to getting Botox.

Do you offer gift cards? Yes — we offer gift cards in store. Please email us to schedule a pick-up time.

I’m on a budget, can I still get treatments and homecare at AfterGlow Aesthetics? Absolutely! We understand that skin treatments and products can be expensive and are happy to work within your budget. During our initial consultation we will determine the most cost effective way to reach your skin goals. I offer a variety of facials (at various price points) as well as a very budget-friendly and effective skincare line. I have also made my Acne Bootcamp service prices lower than most because I understand the emotional toll acne can have on one’s self-confidence, and I want this to be an option that is accessible. Whether you are just looking for treatments, homecare, or a mix of both, we will always be mindful of your budget.

What is the difference between the skincare lines carried at AfterGlow versus the skincare lines at Sephora, Ulta or the drugstore? The skincare carried at AfterGlow is pharmaceutical-grade, while the skincare sold at drugstores is cosmetic-grade. Pharmaceutical-grade products are superior in a number of ways, including years of clinical testing to prove their efficacy claims, and are formulated to work at the cellular level. Many drugstore products only work on the uppermost epidermal layers (the dead skin cells) and never reach the lower level (where there are live cells). Reaching the live cell is hugely important when we are working to correct skin concerns and achieve results.

Do you carry skincare products in spa? Yes — we carry GlyMed Plus, Jan Marini Skin Research, Face Reality, and Clearstem skincare in-store. We also carry Clean Skin Club facial towels. Why are medium depth chemical peels for established clients only? We care deeply about the health of your skin and want to ensure you receive the desired results with as little irritation as possible. In order for us to safely perform a chemical peel, we must have analyzed and worked on your skin previously, so we’re able to make the best peel recommendations (ingredients, depth, etc.). Your skin must be properly prepped at home both before and after a peel and you must be on a skincare routine approved by Alison.
